
Our Mission
• To bring together health care
professionals, multidisciplinary cancer providers, hospitals, county
health departments, leading non-profit organizations, faith communities,
businesses, cancer survivors, and concerned citizens throughout a ten
county region in West Central Georgia to save lives in the future from
cancer by focusing on cancer prevention, education, early detection
efforts and access to the best possible care.
Our Vision
• The West Central Georgia Cancer
Coalition envisions a healthy future in our community, free of the death
and destruction caused by cancer.
Our History
•
The West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition began on June 29th, 2001.
• Includes Chattahoochee, Harris,
Marion, Meriwether, Muscogee, Schley, Stewart, Talbot, Taylor, Troup and
Webster County.
• Initially known as the “Columbus
Collaborative.”
• Targeted the development of a
comprehensive Oncology Project.
• On May 28th 2002 our WCGCC signed
a contract to fund a Cancer Care Access Coordinator. |
